With a single wave of her wand, Headmistress McGonagall neatly stacked the house tables against the walls of the Great Hall, the long benches settling in alongside them. Waving her wand again, she conjured dozens of individual desks. Each desk came equipped with a rigidly straight-backed chair, clearly designed to keep anyone sitting in it from falling asleep. On the desks was set a single bottle of black ink and a rather plain-looking quill. Professor McGonagall smiled to herself; she knew that the most powerful anti-cheating charms were placed within each of the quills. They might look mundane, but anyone who dared to cheat while holding it in their grasp would be in for a rude awakening.
Preparations done, she cut across the hall to the front. Where normally the teachers' table sat, there was an expansive--albeit plain--teacher's desk with a wing-backed chair behind it. Piled atop the desk were rolls of parchment. The hall was ready, examination papers waiting. All that was left was to call the students in. Wand still gripped in her right hand, she flicked it at the doors to the Entrance Hall and announced, "Enter!"
It's that time of year again: time for examinations! If you are currently a 5th-year student and earned at least 100 points this past term, you may take your Ordinary Wizarding Levels
. If you are a 7th-year student and earned at least 100 points this past term, you
may take your Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests
You will have two weeks to take your exams, at which point they will be closed. You do not have to take these tests to move up a year or graduate
. Good luck!
