Excited that you get to leave Hogwarts and go somewhere other than Hogsmeade, you step up to McGonagall's office fireplace and step in. Like the students who had their turns before you, you throw down the Floo Powder and clearly state "Ministry of Magic, Atrium." In a whirl of ash, you are quickly shot through a series of fireplaces until finally, sick to your stomach, you shoot out into the Atrium of the Ministry.
It is a beautiful stretch of space lined on either side by fireplaces. Taking a look around, you see the Fountain of Magical Brethren that you heard about in your History of Magic class and down at the far end, you see the lifts that will take you to the different levels. Several students are milling about and, finding your friends, you get into a discussion about the things you are bound to see today.
Hufflepuff invites you to a Field Trip to the Ministry of Magic. Fascinating contests, Great Prizes and a good time to be had by all! Just click on the Fountain of Magical Brethren and away you go!

This summer on HEX, join your houses as they venture through the trapdoor and race for the Sorcerer's Stone! What does this mean? Yep: the Inter-House Competition is back.
compete for prizes and glory, house points, galleons, items and more. They will be tested by the greatest witches and wizards of our age: the Hogwarts Professors. And they need YOU to help them do it.
Think you can take on a fully-grown mountain troll? Have you got the musical genius to get past Fluffy? When faced with a Devil's Snare, can you remain cool? Will McGonagall's chess board keep you from moving forward? What will you see in the Mirror of Erised?
If you think you've got what it takes to lead your houses to victory, head on over to your Common Room
. Over the next few weeks, each house will be recruiting members to participate in the different events of the Inter-House Competition, which include everything from music, to graphics, riddles and logic, to writing...and even playing a game of chess. Your house is going to need the most talented people that they can find, and I'll tell you right now: you will be rewarded QUITE nicely for your efforts.
Get ready to head down the trapdoor and compete in a series of fantastic events. Owl me, or your house staffs, if you have any questions.
Let the magic begin!

Every six months, as the Ravenclaw house staff term comes to a close, we like to hold a little fundraiser for next year's staff. Yup, it's that time of year! Ravenclaws, head to the Room of Requirement for RESTOCK! Let's have fun and raise money for the house at the same time. The earnings from all contests that you participate in during the next two weeks will go directly to funding the Ravenclaw house account for the next term. The more you GIVE, the more the next staff can GIVE AWAY!

New Item Designers are currently needed for HEX. If you are interested in creating items for HEX, please read the entire post below!
What Do Item Designers Do?
Item Designers create graphics, which are used to represent items in the HEX economy. The job entails a lot of graphic skill and creativity, as well as a honed knowledge of canon objects within the Harry Potter world.
Item Designers get to have their item graphics (if approved) turned into site items. If an item is approved and becomes an actual item on HEX, the designer is also entitled to one copy of THAT specific item.
How Do I Apply?
To apply, send 5 examples of items that you have made to Aurora Dior. They MUST meet ALL of the following criteria:
* Your item MUST be 80x80 pixels. It must be on a black background. I mean BLACK. Not almost black. Black black (#000000).
* You must submit original items for this. Not remade items, ones that have not been (to public knowledge) already created. In other words, it can't already be an item that exists currently within the HEX economy.
* You must submit canon items. This means, you must submit items that actually occur within the Harry Potter world as written by J.K Rowling. This can include items from her side work, something mentioned in a book she wrote to correlate to the Harry Potter world (such as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them).
* You must submit original work. Copying an image from Google is not acceptable. Adding a black background to an image does not make it yours. You need to hand draw, or manipulate the image to the point that it is CLEAR that the work submitted is yours. Use of resources is one thing, ripping an image is another entirely.
*** PLEASE NOTE: If you fail to adhere to the terms clearly stated here, your submissions will be ignored. If you have a question, you may feel free to owl Aurora Dior, HPfanextrm, quiet_fury87, or Xeneixian.
