I'm going to be doing some periodic maintenance on a few databases on the forums so if you notice a slow load time or random errors, don't think too much of it. It should resolve itself shortly.

The dorm system underwent a few changes. Dormitories now have their own unique forum IDs. So if you have any saved links, you'll have to update those.
Also, to update how your dorm forum looks, you now use the forum editor. This has changed versus updating it within the dorm management page.

Recently some of you have chosen to exploit a bug in which people who do not own the required item (Color Changing Ink) could manipulate their ink color anyway (By selling the item and continuing to use its functions). Some of you may feel that it is not a big deal because it did not involve the procuring of items or galleons that do not belong to you, however, it is STILL bug abuse.
To quote rule 14 of the site terms "Anyone found exploiting a bug to their advantage or to another users disadvantage will be expelled immediately. If you have knowledge of a bug, it is your responsibility to report it to the administration. Failing to do so in a timely manner (meaning the moment you realize there is a bug) will also be considered cheating."
All of these actions have been logged. Meaning that the staff knows not only exactly how many people exploited the bug, but the name of every single user.
I suggest that those of you who have gotten off with a warning this time take heed of this rule, and refrain from trying to get away with exploiting bugs, no matter how insignificant they may seem to you, in the future.

Those of you skillful enough to pass the Apparation Instrutor's examination will now find that you are able to store your very own custom links in the bar across the bottom of your screen. To define these links, select Apparation at the top of MyHex.
If you have completed your examination, you will be a page where you may specify the URL and display for each link. If you have not, you will be directed to the examination.

It is my pleasure to let you all know that the Apparation instructor from the Ministry of Magic has arrived. He is currently giving the test to receive your apparation license!
Also, unlike years prior, this class is open to all students of all ages! Even the graduates are free to attend!
But, be advised, students with little magical experience may find this test to be a little rough and take quite a large amount of effort. But don't fret, for I have faith in you! The class is located Here
On a technical note, please make sure you have Javascript enabled and 800x500 worth of screen space available to take this test.

On the bottom of the site, you'll notice a bar. What this is, is an a bar that will automatically update whenever you receive an event. I'm throwing this out site-wide at the moment just to get a glimpse on how it will affect performance. For those of you who will not want it, there will be an option to remove it soon. Thanks for the patience.
Edit: You may now choose to remove the bar in your preferences page.
