Today Josh (HPfanextrm) has been promoted onto the staff as a staff member. Josh has been on the site for a very long time and has been a very dedicated global moderator. His main area on staff will be programming. Josh is another person to contact in the event you find scripting errors, in addition to Steven and me.
Also, all donation items for January have been passed out. Sorry for the delay on this. The six month rare will also be handed out very soon.
Lastly, the Slytherin shirt design has finally been decided on. More information about it to come this week. The Site Store deals from December/January have also been randomly handed out. (Hermione's Wedding Ring, Dumbledore Remembered Article, 100,000 galleons, 50,000 galleons (2), 25,000 galleons (2)). March's store deals will be posted soon.
Thank you!

Voldemort and his Death Eaters are hosting their very own selection of game shows, just for the population of Hogwarts. Every house is welcome to join. Check it out; Voldie totally doesn't have an evil ulterior motive. >=]

Yo.
There are a few forum changes I'd like to inform everyone of. The first being the preview button. This is correctly functioning and will offer you a preview of how your post will look as if it were posted. Please, use this profusely!
Second, I'm sure most of you have noticed the Edit link on your posts. This is a function that is being made available for all users. Though, you will only be able to edit your posts within 10 minutes from posting. Also, you can only edit the post a maximum of 3 times. These measures are in place to ensure that this function is being used only as a corrective tool. Also, please keep in mind that all edits are logged and extremely easy to view changes. Not that I don't trust each and every one of you ;).
All in all, forums are back to normal functionality. If there are any issues or bugs, please post the situation in the Errors and Glitches thread along with a URL of the page you are having the problem with.
Anyways, thanks. Have a good one.

To everyone who was having problems with clubs:
I think I managed to fix it (It's a very old system far before my time :P). For those of you who are having the issues that it's saying you're in a club and it's not showing up; it now should be. Just go to the clubs page as normal and hopefully it'll be in your list and you can delete it.
Some of the forums won't load and if you happen to have one of those, you're going to have to delete the club and re-create it. Sorry for the pain.

As you can see from the post under this one, there is a major scripting project ongoing and naturally it may lead to errors and glitches.
If you discover an error or glitch, the course of action you should take is reporting it to the staff, instead of exploiting it or advertising it in forums for others to do so. You will be punished for that kind of behavior severely.
If you are unsure about being allowed to do something particular that you haven't been able to do before, consult a moderator.
EDIT: The issue of Chrome and Safari causing not being able to post has been fixed. You should be able to use them without any problems now.

Hello everyone,
I'm moving the forums to a new code-base. While this is going to be good in the long run, it's causing a set of immediate problems.
For those with forum administrator access, the way that forum privacy works has changed. This is especially noticed in house forums. If there are any usernames in the 'Usernames' column of the private section, only those users will be allowed in the forum. Also, the categories such as 'boy' and 'ravenclaw' have been removed from this section and given their own checkbox.
So if you want only ravenclaw boys to access the forum, you check those boxes and update. If there are any usernames in the usernames column, then only those usernames will be able to access the forum.
If you'd like to specifically allow others who do not fit the categories, then you put their usernames into the allow column. This will bypass the categories and give them access.
Also, forums are missing a few functions such as thread watching. They will all return shortly.
Thanks.
