Nelly Gusev sat down in a quiet spot at her local park. She was glad that there was a bench in the shade, because it was a hot day, well, hot for Russia at least. Out of her bag, she pulled two items, her favorite Harry Potter book and her favorite chocolate bar. She set the bar aside for a moment, wanting to get into the book first. She had read The Goblet of Fire many times, but it never got old, none of the books did. Once she had finished the first chapter, she suddenly remembered that she had treated herself to a Caramel-Chocolate Wonka Bar. Having set her book to the side, she went to unwrap the chocolate, surprised to feel that it wasn't very melted. That wasn't the biggest surprise about her bar, though.
Peeling back the foil, she saw it, a Golden Ticket! She glanced around to make sure she was alone, and then squealed. She wasn't normally a squealer, but this was an exceptional moment. She had found the third Golden Ticket! She celebrated by taking a square of the chocolate and plopping it in her mouth. The other two had been found by a 10 year old by from Italy and a 15 year old girl in Argentina. She couldn't wait to tell her family and she hoped that this could help her get scholarships for college. Eating more of her chocolate, she settled back into her book. She could keep this information to herself for a bit longer.

Five months later, the Ticket Finders and their relatives were being summoned to the Wonka Factory. This was not the first time ticket finders were summoned, that happened a few decades prior to this day. That was back when Willy Wonka owned the factory, now Charlie Bucket was the owner. The pair had spent quite a number of years working together, but when Wonka passed, Charlie was the sole owner. Now he was looking for someone to take his place, not that the world knew that. As far as they knew, he was just giving away a special chocolate prize, which technically was what Willy Wonka had done.
Nelly looked around her, observing the other winners. They ranged in age and ethnicity. She was not much of a people person, but she wondered if she would befriend any of the other 4 people. Nelly had brought her mother and older brother with her. Her father wasn't around, but that didn't mean she couldn't bring two family members. She knew her brother would kill her if she didn't bring him.
The crowd waited impatiently for Charlie to exit the factory. This day had been anticipated for a long time and was just as celebrated as the original one. Soon, the doors opened and the crowd, held back by the gates, let out a cheer. The 5 families inside the gates waited silently, wondering what Charlie would say.

Sixteen year old Eugene clicked his tongue impatiently as he waited next to his father, along with the four others who had found the Golden Ticket. His cold grey eyes were fixed on the front door of the Wonka factory, looking as though he would much rather be elsewhere. Mr. Accorso started to tap his feet, not being accustomed to waiting for so long.

As Eugene looked over at the other families gathered next to him, he could only snort at the uncomely appearance and poor sense of clothing. Surely, none of them deserve to even be here! Look at them! the British-born boy of Italian descent scorned at the children and their relatives, unable to hold back contempt. But all of them had found the Golden Ticket, just as he had.

Eugene remembered very clearly, the day he had found the ticket. Four tickets had already been found and Mr. Accorso was starting to get worried that his Eugene would not be able to visit the Factory. "I have to go there, Pop! I don't care how you get it. But I want that ticket!" Eugene had shouted at his father as a maid combed his glossy hair and styled it. And Mr. Accorso had bought out entire stores in search of the last candy bar that held the Golden Ticket.

Of course, Eugene would never eat so much chocolate. It was all too fattening and he had to keep up his good looks if he was to remain the teen heart-throb in his high school. So he had gotten his several servants, maids and stable boys to eat through the chocolate bars and check them for the ticket. All the work had finally paid off when one of the maids exclaimed in delight (or perhaps discomfort on biting a piece of paper).

That was just two weeks ago. Now, all the ticket winners were within the Factory compound with one or two family members, waiting for Charlie Bucket to make his entrance. "Why is he so tardy?" Eugene Accorso asked his father, as though his father could make Charlie appear right now if he wished to. As if to answer the Italian's question, the doors opened and a rather peculiar looking figure started to make its way out of the factory.

It was, of course, none other than Charlie Bucket, the one who had succeeded Willy Wonka as the owner of the Wonka Factory. But Charlie looked almost hilarious in his weird assortment of colorful clothes and an astonishingly bright top-hat. And to think that Charlie was only a normal, young boy when Wonka first met him. This factory must be rubbing off on him. What an eccentric dressing sense!

Charlie, even though he was much more of an honest fellow than Mr.Wonka was, felt like he needed to honor Willy somehow. He wouldn't do the cane trick seeing as everyone would sill remember that, so he had though of something else. His entrance was something that his old pal would've been proud of.

Nelly watched attentively, not wanting to miss a second. The big front doors opened to reveal… no one. They all waited a couple of minutes in silence, not wanting to let themselves think he wasn’t going to come. Soon enough, a large popping noise was heard and a cloud of smoke was seen. As the smoke cleared, a man in eccentric clothing could be seen exiting the factory. Finally Charlie Bucket had graced them with his presence.
"Good morning, folks." He greeted casually as if he hadn't just made a big entrance. Everyone past the gates clapped and cheered, while the contestants and their families tried to take in the man who would be leading them around the factory. "I'm going to take a guess and say you guys are the ticket winners and their families." Charlie sent a wink to the parents and said, "Families are very important." He waved goodbye to the crowd and turned around to go back up the steps.
Nelly glanced around her to see if anyone else would go ahead of her. She didn't like drawing attention to herself. Thankfully, Charlie noticed this too and turned around. "Well, don't just stand there! We've got plenty of time and nothing to see!" He paused to think about what he had said. "Scratch that, reverse it." After he told them to come, all the families followed him into the factory. The doors closed loudly behind them, without anyone actually closing them.
Nelly was trying to take everything in, and so was her family. Her mother, brother, and her were all pointing things out to each other. She hadn't realized that they had arrived at something and the group had stopped until she bumped into the boy in front of her. She had remembered him from the news when he had won the ticket, though she couldn't quite remember his name. It started with an E, she knew for a fact. She fished around for it, Elliot? No. Ernest? Nah. Eric? Couldn't be it, it was less common than that. She gave up and waited to find out, but she did apologize for bumping into him.
Mr. Buckets was holding something at the front of the group. Nelly focused on what he was saying. It was a confidentiality and anti-theft contract. In fact, it was almost the same one he had to sign, only updated to fit modern times. A couple of parents tried to argue that they shouldn't have to sign anything, but it really wasn't unreasonable.

Outrageous deessing and silly tricks. This guy. Is he really the owner of one of the biggest chocolate factories in the world? Eugene could not believe it. Just how could someone like Bucket even run such a factory. One could expect everything to be a total mess by the end. And yet, he has more income than most business men in the world.

As the crowd behind the gates cheered, Eugene could not help but scoff. Brilliant deduction Holmes! We couldn't be the ticket winners and the family. We are just in for sight seeing! But the boy just smiled and nodded like a bobble-head. He did not want to annoy Bucket and get kicked out.

When Charlie started walking into the factory, nobody followed him. Everyone seemed either shy or nervous. As Bucket turned back to spout useless pjs at them, Eugene stepped forward along with another little twerp to take the lead of the group of people, walking into the factory. The doors shut behind them with a suspicious sigh and Bucket turned around, pulling a piece of official looking paper out of his many pockets.

Eugene halted in his tracks to stand next to his father when he felt a slight bump on his back. It was a girl with what Eugene would describe as a 'bookish aura' about her. She had her mother and brother along with her as well. Did he remember hearing her name on tv? He probably did hear it, though he could not be bothered to remember it.

But the girl apologized for bumping into him, which cut off the snarky remark he was about to let off. "It's fine. I'm Eugene. What's your name?" The Britain-born Italian asked, his accent more British than Italian owing to his bringing up. Charlie was explaining about the anti-theft contract that they needed to sign before they move on any furthur. Two parents tried to argue about it, but he knew from his father all too well about legal dealings. But...

"What could anyone steal from here anyway? It's just chocolate, not gold!" Eugene commented to the girl who had bumped into him. "Unless you happen to be a fat kid of-course.." He added, glancing at said fat kid who was part of their party. But everyone signed the contract nonetheless and Charlie informed them that they would be reaching the river soon and would travel by boat from there. Why in hell is there a river in a factory? This place is weird!
