The Quibbler's February Official Discussion

This month's discussion will focus on those fuzzy mittens that go on your feet. You know, the ones that keep your toes warm and toasty. Don't know what we're talking about? We're talking about those foot mittens that disappear every time you put them in the dryer! That's right, the latest issue of The Quibbler focused on the importance of socks. So, bring out your dancing shoes socks because we're about to have a discussion dance party!

Here are some questions to consider:
- Do you prefer solid colors or extravagant designs on your socks? Why?
- If you had to choose between short or long socks, which would you pick? Why?
- When putting on socks, do you usually grab a matching pair or grab the first two socks you find?
- If you could make your own pair of socks, would they have any magical qualities? Why or why not?
- As mentioned in Quibbler's Quandry, do you also believe there is a miniature dragon inside of the dryer that eats socks every once in a while?

I like solid colored socks - mainly because I'm boring and have a fairly plain style. Also, I'd rather have people look at my face than look at my feet if/when my feet are visible, so normal colors that blend in work great for me.

If I had to choose between short or long socks I'd pick long. Short shocks somehow always fall off my feet, and long socks are pretty comfortable and keep me warm.

When I put on socks I usually get a matching pair, although those are also usually the first two socks I find (our house is nice in that way, lol). Though I do have to deal with the occasional mispaired socks - the discomfort stays with me for the rest of the day.

If I could make my own pair of socks I would probably just have them make me run faster - I would definitely need it to get to class on time, and no one would suspect that it was coming from my socks of all sources.

I don't think there's a dragon inside the dryer - I think it's a mini black hole, just like the ones you have in cars between the driver/passenger seats and the gear change thing (how did I pass driver's ed again?). It eats everything, not just socks, unfortunately.

Well, let's see what I have the most in my closet. I look around and ponder over which socks I should wear today. Should I go with a character or a silly sock? Fuzzy or cotton? Mitch matched or solid color? Long or short!?

Throughout the years I actually have had many trends in socks, believe it or not. I liked short socks as a kid, but long socks as a teen. Normally, these days I buy silly socks with pizza or my cat socks for example. I also have Lion King socks and Pokemon socks, but my favorite socks are my Nana socks.

When my Nana passed away I wanted something to wear that was hers. I can't wear jewelry due to my metal allergy and I couldn't fit into her tiny Nana clothes. My middle sister ended up with her jewelry and my youngest sister inherited her clothes. So, I was stuck with socks. Most people might be grossed out because they imagine the classic white sock and it being a bit dirty. Nana loved fuzzy socks and majority of hers were only worn a few times. They all were in great shape, and so I chose them. It works perfectly because my feet get cold easily and I have a lot of hardwood floors in my apartment. I still miss my Nana because she only left us a year ago, but now Nana goes wherever I go!

- Do you prefer solid colors or extravagant designs on your socks? Why?

I don’t really have a preference except may during the holidays. Most of mine are just solid colors but I have been known to wear socks with snowmen or Santas on them at Christmas time.

- If you had to choose between short or long socks, which would you pick? Why?

That depends on the time of year. During the winter months when its cold outside I would choose the long ones because they keep you warmer but, in the summer, when its hot outside I’d go with the short ones.

- When putting on socks, do you usually grab a matching pair or grab the first two socks you find?

I usually grab a matching pair. I have been known to grab a mismatched pair a few times when I was in a hurry and didn’t have time to find the mate to the first one, I touched but that doesn’t happen very often. Just occasionally and usually when its time to do laundry.

- If you could make your own pair of socks, would they have any magical qualities? Why or why not?

Yes, if I could give my socks magical qualities I would why not. It would be nice to have a pair that would magically teleport me to where ever I wanted to go. No waiting in traffic just instantly appear where ever I wanted to be.

- As mentioned in Quibbler's Quandry, do you also believe there is a miniature dragon inside of the dryer that eats socks every once in a while?

No, I don’t think there is a miniature dragon inside my dryer but my cat may aide in their disappearance. She has been known to grab a sock while helping me sort the clothes I’m going to wash.

- Do you prefer solid colors or extravagant designs on your socks? Why?
I hate socks. I never wear them. If I had to pick it would be solid colors. I don't like anything that is extravagant. I just like plain and simple things. I would also pick dark colors like black or navy blue.
- If you had to choose between short or long socks, which would you pick? Why?
If I had to wear socks, it would be short socks. The less on my feet and lower legs the better.
- When putting on socks, do you usually grab a matching pair or grab the first two socks you find?
Again, I don't wear socks. I would grab a matching pair. I don't like anything that is mis-matched. I think I would roll them up together after washing so that it would not be hard to find a matching pair. Why would anyone just grab something without looking to see what they got?
- If you could make your own pair of socks, would they have any magical qualities? Why or why not?
I would make them massaging socks. It would be nice to get my feet massaged if I had to wear socks. They would also be heated for the winter and air conditioned for the summer.
- As mentioned in Quibbler's Quandry, do you also believe there is a miniature dragon inside of the dryer that eats socks every once in a while?
Well, since I don't own socks I have never washed them. I have heard friends complain about socks going missing. My theory is there are aliens who have a fascination with socks. They take one of every kind that they find. It's kind of like a sock collection. I can just imagine tens of thousands of socks framed and hanging on a wall.

- Do you prefer solid colors or extravagant designs on your socks? Why?
I like socks with designs, though I don’t care overly much. Socks are usually going to be hidden, so it doesn’t really matter what they look like. If I had my choice, though, I would go for socks with something cute like unicorns or strawberries.

- If you had to choose between short or long socks, which would you pick? Why?
Most of the time, short socks. I like socks that don’t stick up out of my shoes. But if I could get really long socks, like ones that go properly over the knee, those would be really cute.

- When putting on socks, do you usually grab a matching pair or grab the first two socks you find?
I tend to put my socks away in pairs, so that’s what I grab. However I have been known to mix and match occasionally.

- If you could make your own pair of socks, would they have any magical qualities? Why or why not?
For sure. If I was going to knit a pair of socks anyway, it would only make sense to enchant them too. I’d make my socks impervious to water, with magically reinforced toes so I can’t murder them with my toenails, and let’s say they’re always the perfect temperature too.

- As mentioned in Quibbler's Quandry, do you also believe there is a miniature dragon inside of the dryer that eats socks every once in a while?
It’s a pretty fun explanation. I don’t actually believe it, but I like the idea. I’m more of the school of thought that there is some kind of goblin creature in there who likes to collect them.

- Do you prefer solid colours or extravagant designs on your socks? Why?

I have a vast collection of socks, mostly gifted to me but the ones with a Hogwarts theme I have bought them myself. Wearing solid colours socks or fantasy patterned socks it depends on my outfit. If I have to go somewhere a bit formal like a job interview and I am wearing a pair of trousers with brogues, the socks will be visible so I prefer a pair of solid colours socks, black if trousers are dark or a lighter colour. Maybe I can wear a pair of classic patterned socks like stripes or tartan. Instead if I am wearing something casual like jeans and the occasion is informal I will wear my best fantasy socks. I have beautiful ones with little animals, emoji, all the Hogwarts Houses and more.

- If you had to choose between short or long socks, which would you pick? Why?

Long socks always because I like to keep my shin protected and also because when sitting and the trousers hem lifts up I can see the socks and not socks and leg. Short socks in my opinion can be worn only with trainers, but they have to be very short like shoe liners. Wearing a pair of those will prevent the feet from sweating and avoid blisters when wearing trainers. Now there are so many lovely shoe liners with lots of patterns and I have shoe liners with all the Hogwarts Houses too. Yes I am a bit obsessed with Hogwarts.

- When putting on socks, do you usually grab a matching pair or grab the first two socks you find?

I put the socks in my drawers all together with one sock inside the other one so when I pick one there is two of the same colour. Also I don’t do those socks balls because the elastic would be loose after a while and not really nice to see.

- If you could make your own pair of socks, would they have any magical qualities? Why or why not?

It would be great if I could make a pair of socks and by wearing them having the same effect of a portkey or Floo Powder Network so that by saying where I want to go I find myself magically in the place I have mentioned. I am not very good with knitting so I hope it would be possible to charm them only after have been knitted by someone else. Or if this someone else has got magical abilities I could ask if they could enchant them for me.

- As mentioned in Quibbler's Quandry, do you also believe there is a miniature dragon inside of the dryer that eats socks every once in a while?

I don’t know, I don’t have a dryer and also when I do the laundry I always find all my socks. Maybe I might have washed one because it was stuck with other garments or bed linen but at the end I always manage to re-join them. I am not in a hurry to pair them up, I have so many that I can wait with my next washing.

I absolutely adore extravagant socks, they give off a more personalized feeling, and it's so much more interesting to look at than boring and plain ones. I really don't like short socks, as they make no sense to me. They're cost the same as long ones, they don't keep your feet warm, they slip off extremely easily, you don't see them when you're wearing shoes, and you double your risk of losing them since they are so small. I don't really mind when I misplace a few socks, though, as I'll wear any two as long as they're the same length. If I'm looking to be formal, or dress nicely for an event, I'll stick with matching socks (still with overly obnoxious designs and coloring, of course), otherwise, I don't really care. My perfect pair of socks would be color changing socks, depending on your mood. Not those muggle, heat-based versions either. I want a pair of socks that monitors my brain activity and hormone levels, so I can broadcast to the world how I'm feeling. I also can confirm there is no dragon in the washing machine, as I've been very thorough in my investigation of this matter after I read the article. That reminds me, I really should take the bacon and sock trap out of the wash...

- Do you prefer solid colors or extravagant designs on your socks? Why?

I tend to be a solid color person. It is much easier to match to outfits and it really is a no nonsense piece of clothing. Except when it comes to Holiday socks! I love themed socks that really say ‘Hey it is Halloween’ or something along those lines. In the past I found my students really enjoyed my socks, Nowadays my nieces and nephew do. It is a nice chance to be expressive in a subtle way.

- If you had to choose between short or long socks, which would you pick? Why?

I prefer short socks, kind of. When I was a child it was “in’” to wear knee highs, even with shorts. What were we thinking??? Not about fashion, that’s for sure! I tend to buy calf high socks now and sort of scrunch them down, so I get the best of both worlds. Short socks tend to come off my feet and leave my ankles cold.

- When putting on socks, do you usually grab a matching pair or grab the first two socks you find?

Since most of my socks are either blue, black, grey or white, I just tend to grab two of the same color. Sometimes they are a pair, sometimes not, but as long as my feet are warm, it doesn’t really matter. Does it?

- If you could make your own pair of socks, would they have any magical qualities? Why or why not?

I would love magical socks! Maybe a pair that is always clean? Or makes your feet always the right temperature, that would be great. Perhaps I would have color changing socks that always matched what you had on or mood socks where the color reflected your mood! Finally socks that did not dry your feet out would be a nice bonus too..

- As mentioned in Quibbler's Quandry, do you also believe there is a miniature dragon inside of the dryer that eats socks every once in a while?

Of course not! That would be utterly ridiculous. A tiny dragon, really?. Someone is doing some wishful thinking. Everyone knows that it is the sock gnomes, you know, the ones that live in the lint trap. We know this because they arê always returning them once they get all nubbly!

I am quite boring when it comes to sock designs. I like a solid colour specifically in grey black or navy. I do have four pairs of socks that fit outside this category, however. These include three pairs of Slytherin socks and one pair of rainbow socks, which I bought to go to a Pride parade.

I prefer the plain socks for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I like to blend into the background, so I go for muted colours. Second of all, I am quite sensitive to things on my skin, and I find the elastic and seams in socks quite uncomfortable. I usually buy specially made socks that are non-elasticated and seamless. When you buy speciality socks, however, you don't get fancy colours or patterns, you just get very basic colours available.

Quote:
- If you had to choose between short or long socks, which would you pick? Why?

My socks must reach at least the shin and preferably reach the calf. I do like knee-length socks when I first buy them, however, they always shrink in the wash and then end up on the knee rather than above the knee, and then cause the back of my legs great discomfort. They also end up falling half way down my leg as well, because of my knee movement. I like calf length best, I think, because it covers a significant area, in cold weather and can be comfortably folded down in hot weather.

Quote:
- When putting on socks, do you usually grab a matching pair or grab the first two socks you find?

My socks are all paired together after being washed so they are already correctly matched when I pick my sock ball up. Saying that I frequently get stray socks that lose their partner in the wash, or a sock that loses its partner due to having a hole. In these cases I match the two odds socks that are close in resemblance. Since most of my socks are relatively similar anyway, if any odds pairs are matched together, it isn't really noticeable unless you stare up close.

Quote:
- If you could make your own pair of socks, would they have any magical qualities? Why or why not?

They would look as unassuming as all my other socks, but they would have magical charms that achieved the following: shrink prevention, non-creasing, permanent softness, anti-slip, and anti-roll-down.

I love socks, but these shrinking and slipping socks are a nuisance and I would love them to feel as soft and comfy as the day they came out the packet. Charms that dealt with these issues would make the perfect pair of socks.

I believe there is a demiguise inside the dryer, and it's fur gets onto some of the socks while they are rolling around. This inevitably leads to some socks becoming invisible and apparently disappearing for while, until the invisibility wears out and they reappear again.

- Do you prefer solid colors or extravagant designs on your socks? Why?
I hate to admit that I'm a boring old granny witch but I prefer solids. Of course.... I also like neon, so perhaps a solid neon pink set would be nice.

- If you had to choose between short or long socks, which would you pick? Why?
Depends on the shoes, season and my mood at the moment. I mean, you wouldn't wear black knee socks with beach sandals (although, I have seen some older Muggle men with camera's around their necks and white stuff smeared across their noses do this... but I wouldn't recommend it) and you wouldn't want to wear ruffled lace ankle socks under your knee-high boots or your calves and shins would get annoyed with you.

- When putting on socks, do you usually grab a matching pair or grab the first two socks you find?
Matching of course. What kind of godless heathen goes out with mismatched socks! The very notion of such a thing is preposterous!

- If you could make your own pair of socks, would they have any magical qualities? Why or why not?
YES they would definitely be enchanted with A) anti stinkum spell and B) an auto temperature regulator so that they are the perfect temp no matter what the season or weather. Freezing cold outside? They fluff up to be thick chenille socks with heaters in the toes. Sweltering hot out? They thin out to loose weave ankle socks that are just enough to keep your shoes from rubbing friction blisters on your heels.

- As mentioned in Quibbler's Quandry, do you also believe there is a miniature dragon inside of the dryer that eats socks every once in a while?
NO. I think the Quibbler is out to lunch on this one. What I have found to be true is that one sock of a pair will fall through the dimensional hole in the back of the dryer where it is transformed and returned to this plane of existence in the form of paper bags which collect under the kitchen sink waiting to be used for refuse or as pencil stubs with broken points that hide behind the backs of desks. Everyone with any sense knows this to be true.

I usually prefer solid colors, to be honest. While I have nothing against extravagant designs, I do typically wear more plain-type colors in my everyday wear, so the same goes for socks. They’re fun to look at though!

I’d choose short socks, mostly because it is what I’m most used to wearing. I honestly don’t like the feel of long socks. There’s just something about them that bothers me. 😂

I gotta get that matching pair, always. Since I usually keep all my socks together, it’d honestly be more work for me to not wear a matching pair. XD

I think having magical qualities would be cool in socks. For example, one quality could be to always be able to find the matching pair to a lost sock. I’m guilty of losing one of my socks from time to time, so that would definitely be helpful in those situations. Being left with only one sock from a matching pair can be so annoying, lol. It’d also be cool if they could magically warm or cool off your feet, depending on the temperature, to help make your feet more comfortable.

There’s gotta be, because where else could that missing sock be? It for sure can’t have anything to do with my tendency to lose things, so this is the only logical explanation.

You know, it depends on the day. If I'm feeling melancholy and/or more introverted, less like socializing, I'd wear solid colours. I'd also wear solid coloured socks on serious work days---like if I had to testify or I had an important project or interview or something---because that would keep me in the frame of mind to just focus on one thing---you know, one sock colour, one thing at a time. But on the weekends, I'd wear the most extravagent, fun socks I could find. And I'd do the same if I was just in a playful, extroverted mood. Because anyone seeing my awesome socks would want to come talk to me about them, right? So it would open up conversation on days I feel like conversing and give us a starting point. Plus, it's just fun to wear extravegantly designed socks.

Quote:
- If you had to choose between short or long socks, which would you pick? Why?

I'd find it impossible to choose between short or long socks, because I like long socks when I wear my tactical boots (which is often), but prefer short socks when wearing my tennis shoes (which is less often, because I mostly use those for aerobic exercise and Merlin knows I don't do as much of THAT as I should!) If you *made* me choose, then I'd create a self-adjusting sock spell that would enable me to have one pair of socks that could adjust to whatever length I needed it to be for the day so I could not have to pick. I'd just cast the spell and then say that I picked that particular pair of socks, so I'd always have a two-in-one option!

Quote:

I have my socks matched up in the drawer, so I generally grab matching pairs. That said, I have accidentally grabbed two different ones and not noticed because my eyes are old and my close-up vision is getting worse by the day---I'm actually convinced when that happens Peeves has been in there just messing them up to annoy my OCD side.

Well, I think we have established that I would, given my answer to an earlier question. But if I were able to make another magical pair of socks, I'd make a pair that would give me the ability to dance with grace and talent. I am not a very good dancer and I have no sense of rhythm....so if I could slide on a pair of magical socks to help me on date nights, that would be a really awesome thing.

I don't think a dragon in the dryer would eat socks---I think s/he'd incinerate them trying to dry them "by the fireside" so to speak. And that very well may be what happens. Surely there is something in the dryer that eats the socks---but I suspect it's more likely a Finnish Footlink---they are mythical creatures who have a compulsive need to cover their feet---and they will seek out places where socks, shoes, blankets, etc are in huge supply. So what better place than a dryer to find an endless supply?

I prefer to have solid color socks for when I'm at work or anywhere I need to look respectable, because I prefer to not attract attention to my socks. So I'll even go with white socks most of the time, because color attracts attention too. But then when I'm at home with my family I usually take my shoes off and can walk around just with my socks, so then I like to wear colorful socks or even socks that have drawings on them ^_^

My socks are all regular length (not short nor knee high, just regular). Most people actually wear short socks so you wouldn't see they wear them at all, that's currently what's in. But I ust don't like how they feel.

I'm a very organized person, so all my socks are sitting in pairs in their drawer. It also helps to match them immediately when they return from the dryer, otherwise I really won't be able to locate each sock's matching pair when getting ready in a hurry.

If I could make my own pair of socks, I'd give them magical strength so they would never tear. Too often do I have to throw away nice socks because of a stupid hole that forms.

While it's an interesting theory, I don't believe there is a miniature dragon inside of the dryer that eats socks every once in a while. No, I believe the dryer just takes our socks as a form of entertainment, to watch humans wonder where it might have went.

before I forget to do this. . . .
- Do you prefer solid colors or extravagant designs on your socks? Why?
I thought you'd never ask! I can go with solid colors - we're talking the more obnoxious the better, though. But my favorite socks are the socks that people look at and go not 😱 'Where did you find those?' but 'Who in the hell made those?' That's when we're in the right kinda sock territory for me. My personal favorite pair is a pair with armadillos on them. Oh, yes, they definitely exist. Exhibit A The finest specimen of weird procured from a shop in Los Angeles. A shop I may or may not have spent, oh, i dunno, 200$ on just socks? I did buy someone else a pair, though?
Although a very peculiar taste is necessary for strange socks as well as the talent to wear them when you run across another sock connoisseur your day is sure to be made. Weird socks are not for the feint of heart.
- If you had to choose between short or long socks, which would you pick? Why?
Long socks. I need a safety net for when I forget to shave and then end up back at one of my tattoo artists' shops and they just have to show off a tattoo to a buddy. Find a picture on your phone. I know you have one. They don't want to see the side of Chewbacca's leg.
- When putting on socks, do you usually grab a matching pair or grab the first two socks you find?
It all depends on the type of sock, shoe, and wherever the hell I'm going. I don't get crazy mix-y and match with my patterns unless it's in a similar family colorwise or else that would drive me absolutely batshit insane. You can't ever pair a beige sock with cherries with a black sock with pink flowers. That's ludicrous. It is okay, however, to pair a beige-brown sock with ostriches with a beige sock with armadillos. In fact, that is even fun. It's a small, mobile zoo without all the fur, smells, shit and flies.
Usually somewhere I'm going to take my shoes off like someone's house or going to get a tattoo, I reserve a nice pair of socks for. I might drive up in a car with a bad sunburn but I will have some expensive ass socks on my stinkin' ass feet.
and in a real pickle, I snatch up two socks from the bag of doom - which is my counterpart's bag of socks. It's punishable by death and the heel comes up to my ankle so they're essentially short socks that are long socks. I always forget to put them in their appropriate dirty bag. . . . and they end up in the sheets and he knows there's only one way they got there.
BUT IF HE WOULD WASH MY DAMN SOCKS IT WOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM? HOW HARD IS IT TO SEE SOCKS WITH DAMN ARMADILLOS?
- If you could make your own pair of socks, would they have any magical qualities? Why or why not?
yes. they'd wash their own damn selves. and repel cat fuzz and other crap you pick up if you live in a house with hardwood floors. I don't 'sweep', no. I take care of that and mopping walking up and down the hall. 😒
- As mentioned in Quibbler's Quandry, do you also believe there is a miniature dragon inside of the dryer that eats socks every once in a while?
I must have a dustbunny or defective dragon. My dryer takes two cycles to dry clothes all the way. So might wanna jack up the heat in there a bit, bud.

I love wearing socks, I rarely take them off, mainly because if I do my feet turn into blocks of ice within a minute. Right now I'm wearing black socks with pink toes and heels, but these are not my ideal sock. In general I prefer more fun patterned socks but needs must- these are the only ones that are clean- which reminds me I should probably do some laundry.
For normal wear sock choice would depend on the occasion. For work I tend to go for black socks which camouflage against my tights and keep my toes all warm and toasty, when I'm in my own clothes I go for patterned or printed socks (some of my favourites have sheep on them) and when I am at home sitting around doing nothing I go for a big fluffy pair (the best ones are a boring grey but they are so fluffy and warm I don't care)
When I was working on a yard as a teenager I set a trend among the people working there. I would
wear knee length bright stripey socks over the top of my trousers, which was absolutely fine when I had Welly boots on, but looked really weird when I switched to short boots, but I think I owned it! Well I must have done because all the other girls working there started doing it too.
As for the dragon in the dryer- I don't have one so I couldn't possibly comment.

I like to think of myself as a True Sockist. I allow equal opportunity for almost all socks to have the delightful chance of encountering and getting to know my feet intimately... Those soft fuzzy socks with the stickies on the bottom (kinda like hospital socks, but classier, and in prettier colors) are always fun and lovely for winter. Knee socks I wore more as a high schooler; nowadays I guess I am more in to three quarter length socks...I LOVE patterns and fun designs as well as solid colors....I wear my heart on my socks as well as on my sleeve; in fact I intend to sock shop tomorrow and see what I find...Perhaps the only design on socks I find dated, is argyle....that too was a high school thing...Some of m;y socks have horses, rabbits, Monet lilypads, sushi, mac n cheese, musical notes, you name it! For some Christmases I have asked only for socks as gifts. Useful, fun, comfortable, protective...Life is simply more SOXY with socks.😁

- Do you prefer solid colors or extravagant designs on your socks? Why?
Sadly enough, I'm a boring person who loves socks that are perfectly ordinary and plain with no interesting patterns on them at all. That being said, there are certain socks with patterns that I absolutely adore. Once I saw a classmate wearing a pair of mismatched socks, one had a hilarious pattern of... actually I can't remember the pattern . In any case, I do love seeing the occasional flashy pair of scoks, but mind you I'll never be the one wearing them.
- If you had to choose between short or long socks, which would you pick? Why?
Definitely short socks. You know that feeling when your leg is itchy and no matter what you do you can't be comfortable because that same, relentless, annoying itch is still there? That's me with long socks. And besides that, it's also a battle t the death between me and the socks to see who wins, on my leg or not? That is the true question here . I could also talk forever about the disadvantages about short soxks, but seeing as this is a discussion and not a tirade I'll refrain myself from doing so.
- When putting on socks, do you usually grab a matching pair or grab the first two socks you find?
I am an extremely organized person for the mostvpart so I always keep my socks together in pairs. But I do just reach into the drawer and grab the first pair I can find, so technically I'm doing both at the same time I guess
- If you could make your own pair of socks, would they have any magical qualities? Why or why not?
Oh of course they would. We are witches and wizards here people, if we can create potions to make people lucky, invent spells that defy grafity, and stuff like that, we can definitely enchant our own socks. Me being me, I'd enchant my socks to make besides me who wears them to tell poems about socks for the rest of the day while forcing the thief to come to me so I can get my socks back. Things like socks cost money and if someone takes my socks that's some hard earned money gone so I'll definitely want to get my socks back if they're stolen and at the shame time, shame the thief because what better way is there to teach them a lesson?
And besides that, my socks would have to wash themselves, be able to repel liquids (there are some pretty nasty instances), and be able to stay smelling nice and fresh. If my socks want to be able to stay in my house and on my precious feet, they betfer be able to pull their own weight and help me out.
- As mentioned in Quibbler's Quandry, do you also believe there is a miniature dragon inside of the dryer that eats socks every once in a while?
Everyone knows that socks don't just disappear into oblivion, even in our world of magic. Dryers are perfectly normal muggle objects, they couldn't make objects disappear, there has to be something else causing them to. Following this line of reasoning, there must be something magical that is causing them to poof away. So naturally, there's a miniature dragon inside the dryers. It's not too hard to believe. As long as the dragon isn't doing any nasty things to the dryer, I'm perfectly fine with it making its home in my dryer, I'll even add in a few extra socks to keep it happy.

Usually, I have to wear solid color socks. For work they have to be black socks. If I didn’t work so much I think it rather have socks with designs on them. I always find super cute ones but no time to wear them. Occasionally I will get some with colored toe and heels. I know, not to exciting.

Definitely shorter socks. I prefer no show or ankle length, at most. They would have to be pretty awesome for me to consider long socks. They just hit a nerve when they start to slouch.

They absolutely have to be matching. It’s a slight pet peeve of mine. When I was young my mom forced me to wear matching socks. It’s, unfortunately, stuck with me for all these years.

They’d definitely me magical! Those so many options you could have. Color changing socks, light up socks, socks that levitated you, maybe grouchy socks that breathe fire when you feel you haven’t worn them enough. Or when they’re dirty they yell at you to give them a “bath". If I really thought hard I could come up with better magical abilities.

The dragon seems like a believable reason they’d go missing. It’s always mine or my husbands socks. The little dragon must like the kids. Dragons gotta eat something right?
