Welcome to the first bi-weekly chat of March. This month, we will be talking about the four seasons that grace us with their presence whenever they feel like. I'm currently in my city's second Winter, slowly moving into Spring. Which season do you prefer? Winter, Fall, Summer, or Spring? Is there one you'd rather have for the entire year? One that has brought the most happiness to you? Why do you prefer that specific season over the others? What do you like to do during the seasons? Is there something you have to wait a specific season for, such as an outside fair or to go skating outside? Let's start chatting.

Please remember that all HEX Terms apply. In addition to this, if your first post meets the minimum standard of three sentences, you will be eligible for a ticket to our monthly bi-weekly chat drawing for House Points, as put forth in this post. All posts for this chat are due by 11:59 PM on March 23rd, HEX time, to be eligible for the drawing.

My favorite season is Fall without a doubt I love the cooler weather, the fall holidays, the excitement of the build up to Christmas. I think after that my list would go A tie for Spring and Winter. I m not a fan of summer. I hate humidity, and being sticky and bugs, lol.

I live in the inland northwest of the U.S., about 60 miles from the Canadian border. We had a very mild winter by most standards, with alternating snow and rain at my elevation (2,600 ft)...then February decided to bring snowfall after snowfall, blustery winds and below normal temperatures - some nights with wind chills of 12 below zero F or lower. I love winter, though this one has been very expensive in terms of snow removal costs (about $1,000 U.S.) and use of firewood. I wouldn't trade it for anything. The snowshoeing has been delightful, and all those blustery, cold wind chill evenings were spent with the wood stove blazing...
I love every season - each one has unique qualities, and I love the rhythm to one's life that the seasonal changes give...spring for the gardening, summer for the hiking, autumn for the nesting in preparation for winter, and winter for the quiet solitude...

Which season do you prefer? Winter, Fall, Summer, or Spring?
I prefer Fall because it's the season that starts off the holidays such as Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Also my birthday falls in October

Is there one you'd rather have for the entire year?
Nope, I like the seasons the way the fall during the year.

One that has brought the most happiness to you?
I don't think there's one season that brings me happiness. All of them gives me happiness.

Why do you prefer that specific season over the others?
This doesn't apply to me since I like them all

What do you like to do during the seasons?
Summer being off from school. Having to hang with friends, travel and being on vacation.

Is there something you have to wait a specific season for, such as an outside fair or to go skating outside?
No, I just enjoy what each season brings.

My favourite season is Autumn. I'm no fan of hot weather, so I enjoy the the start of the Academic year, and all the coming festivals: Harvest, Halloween, Bonfire Night, Remembrance Sunday, Remembrance Day, our local Victorian Christmas Fair, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years Eve etc. I love the leaves falling from the trees and who doesn't love kicking a pile of leaves?! I love all the foods that Autumn produces, the gluts of fruit to be turned into pies, crumbles, jam etc. I love the rich soups, stews, pies and other 'stodge'. I like watching the birds who migrate to warmer climates because all the insects have disappeared (I'm no fan of insects either!). I love looking at the trees when you get to see the hidden items which adorn it such as birds nests, mistletoe and ivy. I love seeing the patterns of frost and hearing the crunch of frost covered grass. I like wrapping up in woollen garments and seeing my breath in the air and I love the anticipation of the coming snow. I just love Autumn because it holds all these promises and more!

My favourite season is autumn. I love the way that the leaves change colour from green to orange, yellow, red, brown. I think that visually it is the most attractive season, especially in the country where there are many trees and forests. In the city, the parks and gardens always look stunning in autumn. I also love many of the foods that are common in autumn such as truffles, figs, pumpkins, porcini mushrooms, and game meat like wild boar and venison.

Autumn is my favorite season because the weather is not too hot and not too cold. And I love fall color in the trees. I wish I could go to New England every October.
Spring is my second favorite for the mild weather and spring flowers.
Summer tends to be too hot and winter too cold. Thank goodness it's dry where we live, as I detest humidity.

In the Northeast, my favorite season is fall. I love the crisp air, the smell of the leaves that fall on the ground. I love the weather, cool and dry. The leaves are beautiful. I love to walk in the woods in the fall.

In the south east, I love the winter for the similar reasons. There aren't many deciduous trees so there aren't piles of leaves on the ground but the air is crisp and cool. The humidity is usually low and it's livable. I can get outside and do things without sweating my butt off or being bitten by mosquitoes.

Well, depending on where I live, I enjoy either fall or spring. Spring is usually more moist, so no more staticky hair like in the winter 😄 but it's not to hot that I'm dying. I guess this goes for both seasons to. I think I like Spring a little bit more just because of the green grass and flowers that bloom in everyone's yard, which always looks really pretty. And school will just be ready to end during the Spring, and my birthday is then, and Spring break, and spring cleaning and track season

My favorites are autumn or winter. I like autumn because it's usually always more cool, and I much, MUCH prefer cool or cold weather over the heat, the heat is honestly my worst enemy. Autumn is pretty too, all the leaves. And winter, well, winter usually means snow, and although we don't get snow very often, there's always a possibility, and that means possibilities of having snow days from school. And again, I much prefer the cold over the heat. Now, my least favorite is probably spring. In spring, it is always terribly humid where I live, sometimes hot too. The humidity is especially not fun. And during the spring it's always raining its butt off, which usually results into storms, which results into the internet cutting out for long periods of time, and even if it doesn't storm it will still do that. Yes, I'm a kid and I like having internet, so I mean 😂 And then I really don't care much for summer. Honestly the only reason why I don't absolutely hate it, is because that's when we get school out. But otherwise, I hate the heat so summer isn't exactly for me.

I love all the seasons for different reasons. I love summer because I can relax and the sun is always shining. I love the falling of the leaves in fall and Halloween and Thanksgiving. I love the spring rain and the beginning of beautiful weather and being able to put my winter coat away finally. I love winter during December when the snow is just starting to fall, and Christmas is around the corner.

If I had to pick a favorite, I'd say fall is my favorite. I love the weather and the activities that are available during that time of year. I'd have to say winter is my least favorite. Towards the middle of January, I get sick and tired of all the snow and gloomy gray skies.

I love summer, going to the beach and swimming in the pool when it's warm out... Plus sunny weather is always happier
But if I had to pick a season to be in year-round, I'd say spring is the better choice. Since the days are nice, the weather not too hot or cold yet you still get to feel the sun on your skin. Plus it's when nature blooms all around you, so it's just so beautiful!

Right now I'm in Germany, and winter here is sooo cold XD I came prepared for the most part, but I just realized how cold it is for the parts that aren't covered like my face and hands. I so wish I had gloves!

Which season do you prefer?

I prefer Winter, because it is the coldest season where I live and the one where we receive the most rain. I love short days and long nights---and stormy weather that makes me want to snuggle under blankets with a good book and a warm cup of cocoa or tea! I also love that Winter tends to be a season with less outdoor activities and therefore more time to reflect, journal, meditate, etc. Additionally, it's quieter in my neighborhood in winter than any other season, which I appreciate because I live in the city and it's generally very noisy. Before I developed allergies, Spring was one of my favorite seasons, because the weather was perfect for being out doors. But now I suffer so much in the spring that I see it as a cruel season for me: it makes me want to garden and hike, and then makes it impossible for me to do so. And Summers here are so horribly hot---it's just unbearable and annoying, especially if I'm working and have to be in "professional" suits and stuff---which are really uncomfortable in the sweltering heat! I like Fall---it's probably my second favorite season, because I love the changing colors of the leaves, but it also tends to be rather warm until the very end---often in the 80s and 90s---so I don't enjoy it that much as I really hate the heat.

I really enjoy the change of seasons; I'd get bored if I had one for the entire year (even my beloved Winter!). That said, though, I wish that winter was longer and spring was shorter! And I'd like to see cooler weather more of the year---where I live we get about three months of cold weather total---and then three months of comfortable/moderate weather, and six long months of horrible heat. So while I would not want one season to be for the entire time, I'd like to see a longer winter and a much, much shorter summer and (hot part) of Fall.

One that has brought the most happiness to you?

Well, I love spring and all the beautiful blooms and stuff. When I was able to get out and garden, prior to my allergies getting so horrifically bad, I really enjoyed the spring and it brought me a lot of happiness. But nowadays I tend to just get sad because I feel like spring taunts me with all the things I can't do anymore. So I'd say winter brings me the most happiness now---I love rain and cloudy, cold days. I enjoy feeling cozy and comfortable and just hunkering down and taking time to read and reflect and just slow down a bit. And I LOVE cooking things like casseroles and soups---perfect for cold weather!

In spring, I really, really love to garden and hike. But I can't do much of either because of my allergies. When I do venture out to do them, I suffer for days afterwards, literally. Nonetheless, I will do both at least a little in the spring and just suffer the consequences. The only thing that I have to wait for summer for is a writing workshop I love to attend; otherwise, that season is my least favorite. As a kid, I loved to swim in the summer, but I don't do that much these days. I also used to enjoy the county and state fairs in the summer, but I rarely get a chance to go now, even though I know I'd enjoy it if I found the time to go. I have to wait for specific holidays, such as Easter (spring), Christmas (Winter), Halloween and Thanksgiving (Fall), and Fourth of July (my least favorite holiday) in summer----but I can't think of anything else I especially have to wait for fall or winter to do---other than cleaning my rain gutters! lol.

My favourite season depends very much in which country I am in ...Winter is great in Rome, where it gets cold but there is rarely if ever snow and little rain.
In Denmark, however, where i currently live, winters are long dark and harsh.
Generally speaking, my favourite season would have to be Autumn though. I love that the trees become so colourful, love the sound of rustling leaves and love the food that comes with the colder weather. Autum in Rome is gorgeous and never too cold.
In Denmark unfortunately, Autumn is very short. ..it lasts really just a couple of weeks.
Arill, I enjoy it very much...when we have those sunny days, cool but not cold and ideally sunny, i love to go out for a walk in the forest and if it rains i stay inside and drink hot chocolate.
One other reason i love Autumn so much is that my birthday is on October 28th and that Halloween is in Autumn - so October is definitely my favourite month!

Which season do you prefer? Winter, Fall, Summer, or Spring?
Fall, definitely, always fall. It's cooler than summer, warmer than winter, and doesn't bring the allergies of spring. Always fall.

Is there one you'd rather have for the entire year?
Again, fall. I could live the rest of my life never seeing winter's lows or summer's highs and be happy.

One that has brought the most happiness to you?
They all bring happiness for different reasons. Summer is full of free time, long afternoons, celebrations, family. Winter brings roaring fires, toasted marshmallows, snowmen, Christmas. Spring gifts us with beautiful flowers on every side and new lambs. Fall... fall is good.

Is there something you have to wait a specific season for, such as an outside fair or to go skating outside?
It's only warm enough to go in the sea in summer, so that I guess.

By far my favorite season is Spring. Cool mornings fade into warm days and the world begins to push forth with new life. Tiny leaves burst forth on small branches, small eggs in newly created nests gracing the branches. Flowers burst forth in glorious abandonment after having been silent all Winter. There are so many beautiful things to see and experience as the Earth begins to wake from her slumber. For me, it will always be a time of new adventures to experience.

Which season do you prefer? Winter, Fall, Summer, or Spring?
I like all season but if I had to choose I think I'd say autumn.

Is there one you'd rather have for the entire year? One that has brought the most happiness to you?
No, because all seasons are unique and I like variety.

What do you like to do during the seasons?
I like doing winter sports in the winter, other sports in the other seasons. I like the flowers in spring and the fruits in summer.

Is there something you have to wait a specific season for, such as an outside fair or to go skating outside?
Yes, going skiing for example, or picking strawberries.

My favourite season is Autumn. I love the colours of the leaves changing and walking in them when they fall. It is also the season of my birthday!
My other favourite season is spring. I like this season because of the flowers - snowdrops, crocuses, daffodils and tulips. The weather is pleasant without being too hot!

I like Summer best, but that's UK summer, where it's pleasantly warm, not roasting lol. I do like Autumn as well though, except when it's getting windier. Tbh I don't mind any season, as long as it's not horribly windy 😆 Although when it has snowed and then turned to ice, that is a major pain.
