Survey of the Month: May

Have you ever seen a musical live on stage (not including amateur productions)?
I've seen a couple of off-Broadway productions (Beauty and the Beast and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof - maybe some others but I don't remember).

Do you find it easy to stay friends with your ex's, or is it something you'd rather avoid doing?
N/A

How many piercings do you have? Which one was the most painful to get done?
Zero.

Girls, do you get bad PMS? How do you cope with it?
I do. I just wait it out generally.

Do you prefer BBQ sauce or tomato ketchup with your food?
Both!

Do you find it hard to get up in the morning, or can you just get out of bed and go?
Depends.

Do you ever think that you could be addicted to the internet or to taking surveys?
Hmm. Lemme think on that one...

If your parents read all your survey answers, would they be shocked, angry or totally unsurprised?
Not sure.

What's your favourite thing to eat for breakfast?
Tempeh bacon and hash browns, or fresh fruit and oatmeal. Oh, and tofu scramble is delicious too...

When was the last time you were in a car for longer than thirty minutes? Where were you going?
Home from a folk concert.

Do you have a lot of people "hidden" on your Facebook news feed because they update things too much?
No.

Are you close with your cousins, or do you pretty much never get to see them?
Pretty close but don't see them a ton.

Do you have any friends you've met on here that you'd love to know in real life? Who?
Several.

If you could see any band live, living or dead, which one would you pick and why?
Modest. Mouse.

When you get into a book, do you read it all really quickly, or read a few chapters at a time?
Depends.

Do you often cook from scratch, or are you just too lazy/inexperienced for something like that?
Often but not always.

Have you ever played Angry Birds? Are you any good at it?
I don't play it on principle... it's er, unethical to the birds.

Are you one of those people who seem to be surgically attached to their phones?
Occasionally.

When you arrive on holiday, do you unpack first, or do you prefer to just get out and explore?
Explore!

When was the last time someone did something completely spontaneous for you?
I can't remember... :(

Do you find it easy to fall asleep at night, or do you toss and turn for ages?
Depends on my mood. When I'm happy I can fall asleep easily and I awaken well-rested. In periods of idleness I seem to sleep forever. When sad I toss and turn and can't sleep, and when I do I hate awakening.

When you're at home alone in the evenings, what do you tend to do?
Use my computer.

Has the last week been generally good or bad for you? How come?
It's been fine.

Is it expensive to go the movies where you are? Do you go a lot?
It's no more expensive than other theaters but I prefer to see movies on Netflix way more. So much more variety.

Is there anything in particular that you collect? What?
I collect copies of Notre-Dame de Paris and teddy bears.

What's your opinion on people who go out and get recklessly drunk all the time?
Meh, I dunno.

Do you have to ask your parents before you have friends over to spend the night?
Don't -have- to per se, but it's kind of a nice thing to do... that said I haven't had a friend over in years. /forever alone

Do you tend to get irritable or crabby when you're tired?
No, I never ever do that... ever...

Do you switch your hairstyles up a lot, or do you just to do the same thing all the time?
Same thing. Occasionally I try something new but it's rarely a drastic change.

Do your parents have any tattoos or piercings (aside from ears)?
No.

What bands/artists have you been listening to lately?
Modest Mouse, Amanda Palmer / Dresden Dolls, Yiruma.

Do you have any plans for the rest of the day (or for tomorrow if you're about to go to bed)?
Study for a test and hopefully read up on Sociology. Also write a RPing post, attend a piano lesson and maybe watch a movie or read if I ever get around to it.

girl anachronism

I've been on Hex for nearly four years, and I love every minute of it. I've been involved in just about everything you can imagine - house staff, debate, Quidditch, teaching, editing The Quibbler, and now global moderating - and I can't imagine a life in which I'm not devoting way too much of my free time to this site. It's incredible. The environment, the people. I'm pretty sure I enjoy it even more than the books themselves. As for a little bit about myself...

[ I'm a worrier. I'm panicky, I'm shy, I find it difficult to socialize and I'm so, so easily overwhelmed. It's something I'm trying to work on. I just don't know how to relax sometimes. I'm anti-drama simply because I find it extraordinarily difficult to handle.

[ I'm a total hippie, minus the tie-dye. I wanna help the poor, help the animals, help my friends. Community service appeals to me. Veggie burgers are delicious. I'm touched when I see those commercials on TV of sad puppies in shelters. I'm so filled to the point of bursting with love and passion for the world around me, and I want to make as big a difference as I can in it.

[ I'm always lost in something. I don't really think I can be happy unless I have something to obsess over. To me, it equates to finding purpose. Ask me about any of my prior or current fixations - Modest Mouse, Notre-Dame de Paris, Spongebob, Buffy, or anything on my media sections of this profile - and you'll receive a mouthful you won't forget.

Authors/Poets

Victor Hugo; Joyce Carol Oates; Robert Cormier; George Orwell; E. R. Frank; Truman Capote; David Klass; Charles Bukowski; Lord Byron; Percy Shelley; Shel Silverstein; Edgar Allan Poe; Ogden Nash; Rainer Maria Rilke

M*A*S*H; Roseanne; Sesame Street; Spongebob Squarepants; Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Angel; The Office; Rome; Scrubs; South Park; Dexter; Sliders; Freaks & Geeks; The Andy Griffith Show; Stella; Desperate Housewives; Oz; Twin Peaks; Glee; Mad Men; Blackadder; Better off Ted; King of the Hill
