As much as I hate to admit it, I jumped on the bandwagon only after seeing the first film in theaters at age 8. I'd heard a little about the books prior to its release, but not enough to really spark an interest. As soon as I'd seen the film I did anything and everything I could to get my hands on the first four books (as those were the only ones released at the time) and read them all in time to see the first film again in theaters before it left. I went to the midnight release parties for the last three books and have been to the last four midnight film releases. Favorite movie: It's impossible to choose just one. Favorite food: Chicken and pizza. Fun Fact: I've been on HEX for more than nine years.

I'm an aspiring novelist who loves Panera Bread and my miniature poodle. How did you become interested in Harry Potter? When I was much younger, I used to read the books at my sister's soccer games. There was a period of time where I forgot about them again until the first movie came out and I was instantly re-enamored. The series prompted my head-first fall into total geekdom. In 4th grade, we were reading one of those "Times for Kids!" magazines with about 2-3 pages total and a worksheet to complete that came with them, and in the bottom right corner, I started reading about Hogsmeade. That very day, I whined and complained loudly enough that my mother let me buy the first book...and then the second book...and then the third. I devoured them, and then stalked the internet ferociously looking for other people like me while waiting for the Goblet of Fire to hit the shelves. I remember going to a summer tennis tournament and wanting to lose just so that I could finish reading the new Harry Potter book. Favorite movie: The Lord of the Rings Favorite food: All of my books! I was hooked from book 1 and became one of those annoying people waiting in line to buy the rest of the books at midnight and then spending the entire night reading until I finished. My first exposure to Harry Potter was not a good experience, and I actually really didn't like it. I was only 9 years old when the first book was released in the States, and when my mom started reading it to me, we didn't get past the first chapter! It was probably a year later when my older friends in grade school said they were reading it for a school assignment, and I decided to try it. I picked it up then and loved it. A friend in elementary gave me the first two books because he said he "didn't like them" so I read them and became obsessed! And to think, when I first heard of Harry Potter, my initial thought was: "Wow, a story about a wizard boy, that sounds so STUPID!" So, I started to read HP1 again and I was hooked. In 9th grade my mom had bought me the Chamber of Secrets, not realizing it was a series. I told her that it was a kids book and I wouldnt read it. Later the year my Step-mom rented the first movie.
